About You

We are looking to hire a skilled WordPress Web developer to join our team. You will be responsible for implementing functional and responsive websites for our clients that perfectly meet their design and functional specifications.

To be successful in this role, you must have in-depth knowledge of WordPress and front-end programming languages, while also following best practices. You will need a good eye for aesthetics and strong problem-solving skills. It is essential that you are well organized and have effective verbal and oral communication skills, as you will be working within a team of developers and interacting directly with clients.

You are expected to write clean, well-structured code that is readable and maintainable. Most of all, you need to be motivated to constantly improve and deliver the highest quality end-product to maximize your growth and satisfy client requirements.

• Meeting with clients
• Reviewing project requirements
• Providing feedback on designs
• Planning with other team members
• Setting up local and staging environments
• Implementing designs in WordPress (using custom code + CMS functionality)
• Integrating third-party APIs
• Content authoring and basic SEO
• Conducting internal review and quality assurance
• Conducting website performance tests
• Remediating bugs
• Training the client on utilization and content management
• Deployment

Job Requirements

Essential:

• Proven work experience as a WordPress Developer
• Highly skilled in HTML, CSS, and Javascript
• Highly skilled in Bootstrap 5 and other CSS libraries
• Skilled in PHP and WordPress backend (using hooks, actions, filters, etc.)
• In-depth knowledge of WordPress custom theme and plugin development
• Experienced in a variety of WordPress plugins and integrations such as: Advanced Custom Fields, WPML or other multilingual plugins, Yoast SEO, WooCommerce, custom post types and taxonomies, and page-builders (e.g. Elementor, Divi, etc.)
• Ability to implement solutions through code, without overusing plugins

Preferred:

• Understanding of accessibility (e.g. WCAG) and a11y complaint programming
• Knowledge of CSS pre-compilers such as SASS/SCSS
• Knowledge of version control using Git and platforms like GitHub or Bitbucket
• Experience using jQuery
• Knowledge of SEO best practices
• Experienced in React or Vue.js

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
